Orgasms, we all love to have them, both men and women. We also enjoy the act of sexual intimacy that often leads to blissful and sometimes toe-curling orgasms. Unfortunately, not everyone is capable of achieving an orgasm every time they have sex. This is especially true for many women who have expressed their difficulty/inability to have vaginal orgasms.

This is where modern science comes into play. Sexual intercourse and oral stimulation are not to only ways you can help your partner climax. There are 5 different and unique ways to orgasm without sex or masturbation.

BraingasmJessica O’Reilly, Ph.D., author of The New Sex Bible: The New Guide to Sexual Love says “The hottest sex happens between our ears” and it’s true because sexual arousal is both a physical and a mental act.

The conventional wisdom states that sex, and orgasms only happen through physical acts involving genitals, is not true. Braingasms are orgasms that are achieved by ‘thinking off’. Just by thinking of a fantasy combined with a special type of breathing, you too can achieve a braingasm. Those who can achieve Braingasms have stated that this orgasm is possible for anyone to achieve.

Braingasms, sometimes called Energy Orgasms require serious mental concentration as well as the special type of breathing, have been scientifically proven.  Barry Komisaruk, Ph.D., from Rutgers University has found using an MRI, that Braingasms affect the brain in the same spot as orgasms through genital contact.

Breastgasms, as the name suggests are achieve by stimulating the breasts. Research has shown that the brain activity when stimulating a women’s nipples, active the same part of her brain as stimulating her clitoris. O’Reilly states “Scientists hypothesize that these shared neurons release oxytocin, which induces pleasure, relaxation, and spikes to peak levels just before orgasm”.

Another interesting fact is that 29% of women have already experienced a Breastgasms, one time or another. Many women have also said that the area of their breasts’ they are most responsive to sexual touch is right above the areola.

Belly Button Orgasms

belly button orgasmThis one is only for the ladies. Belly button orgasms are caused by belly button stimulation which causes the stimulation of the vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve is a branchlike structure that connects the brain to the cervix via the belly. As the vagus nerve is stimulated, some women have been said to experience shuddering orgasms.

There is also something called ‘navel fetishization’ that represent those who are incredibly aroused by belly buttons.

Women can enjoy orgasms through core exercises like Pilates. Yes, exercise-induced orgasms. In a study conducted, these coregasms, as they are called, have been said to happen during abdominal moves for 45% of women, 26% during weight lifting, 20% during yoga and 15% while cycling.

While coregasms are not the most well-researched form of orgasm, there seems to be some basis to try out.

thumbgasmOrgasms through thumb stimulation, Thumbgasms. In 2013, Rafe Briggs, a quadriplegic man experienced a thumbgasm by stimulating his thumb as if it were his penis. Sex therapists have dubbed this to be called ‘transfer orgasm’ which means that his mind transferred the erotic sensations of the penis to the thumb. While unconventional to the extreme, it’s an interesting new way to get off with.
